3 Popular Mercedes-Benz Models of All Times

The longest established global automaker, Mercedes-Benz has come up with hundreds of different models over the past ten decades. All the makes epitomize the reputation of German luxury and built quality. Among all the classy machines Mercedes-Benz has manufactured in all these years, we list the three most popular types of Mercedes-Benz that buyers still look for at auto auctions.

2008-2011 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series

The ridiculously fast car, SL65 AMG was a monster of roadster. The car has 6.0-liter turbocharged V12 engine and a hardtop convertible that produces 740 lb-ft torque. The specs weren’t impressive enough for the AMG engineers, who decided to come up with Black Series. They replaced the hardtop with a fixed roof and made rear spoiler, hood, front splitter and trunk lid with carbon fiber to further reduce the weight of the car. The Black Series has engine that produces 661 hp at 5400 rpm. A fourth transmission setting and M2 manual mode were two other additions to make Black Series faster.

1991-1994 Mercedes-Benz 500E

Widely considered as the ultimate sports sedan by Mercedes-Benz, the mid-size car comes with a wider track front and rear. The 5.0-liter V8 engine produces 322 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. 500E also has an upgraded suspension and larger brakes. The striking feature of 500E was its build quality, as the car was developed in a joint venture between Porsche and Mercedes. These models were actually hand built by Porsche, which means 500E had all the luxuries and a cabin with advanced equipment and latest technology features.

2010 E63 AMG

The perfect “all-purpose” sedan, E63 AMG looks almost like E-class Mercedes, but has 20-inch AMG rims and a flared body kit. The E63 has AMG-tuned 6.2 liter engine that produces 517 hp and reaches from 0-60mph in 4.0 seconds and has three different suspensions types and four transmission settings. The one thing that makes E63 AMG a perfect car is its size, which is not too small like C63 that hardly accommodates three people or S63 that is too large.

Last Few Words

Mercedes-Benz, the most identifiable symbol of style and and luxury in the world of automobiles, has always maintained a balance between technology and class. Be it the sports models or coupes, every single car that the German manufacturer has launched has set new benchmarks for competitors. When you are looking for a Mercedes-Benz model that was launched a couple of years ago, do consider one of the three options discussed in the blog post.
